The Hawker Hurricane depicted in the painting is PZ 865 which was the last to be produced in 1944. Aircraft workers hung a placard over during assembly with the words Last of the Many and the slogan was later painted onto the fusilage of the plane which is still flying today with the R.A.F Battle of Britain Memorial Flight based at Coningsby, Lincoln UK.

Also shown in the painting is the legendary Spitfire although at the time of The Battle of Britain the Hurricane was the R.A.F.'s frontline fighter.
